Hadn’t seen him since age 9 in my birthplace Sacramento
Wanted to see him with my bf but he kept saying no
Hung up the phone but I’d give anything to go back in time and go

Every search after that reached its end coming up empty,
And his Social Security led to someone here illegally
On Facebook, I reconnected with his extended family
Last anyone saw him, he was homeless in the 90s

With 5 grandchildren he never ever meets
Seems Cali could point to a grave at least

Thank you for sharing your powerful story. It touched my heart. I’m sorry you went through this. It’s hard when we miss chances to connect with people we care about. Your words remind us to take chances and not let fear stop us. Life is not perfect, and we must grab every moment. Thank you for reminding us of that. It’s a lesson I’ll remember. “Just Go”
